Where to buy manhwa
Update: April 10th, 2011
After the rousing success (...okay, not really) of the manga buying guide, here is a list of stores that sell manhwa in Korean. Note: I'm not fluent in Korean and can't help you order or translate for you.
| AladdinUS.com | |
| Payment options | Credit card |
| Shipping methods | |
| + Online bookstore with a large selection of manhwa volumes and recent magazine issues. – Some knowledge of Korean is required as the site can only be navigated in Korean. |
|
| Gmarket | |
| Payment options | Credit card, PayPal Express Checkout |
| Shipping methods | EMS |
| + A marketplace that also caters to foreign buyers. I haven't tried it, but it seems like you can combine purchases from different sellers and ship the items together, which saves on shipping costs. + Site can be navigated in Korean or English. |
|
| Hanbooks | |
| Payment options | Credit card |
| Shipping methods | US Standard, US Priority, International Standard, International Express |
| + Operated by Aladdin, but is located in Los Angeles and ships worldwide. + They accept special orders through email, and it's possible to subscribe to magazines through the site. – The prices are fairly steep, especially for international shipping and magazine subscriptions. |
|
| Korean Book Services | |
| Payment options | Check/Money order, Paypal |
| Shipping methods | Standard, Air mail |
| + Site can be navigated in German or English. + Accepts special orders through email. – It took almost 3 months for the books to arrive, which is slow even for international shipping. |
|
| Korean Fashion & Shopping Deputy Service | |
| Payment options | Paypal |
| Shipping methods | EMS |
| + Accepts special orders through email. – The commission fees could add up if you're ordering a lot of books. |
